Home Thanksgiving Christmas New Years 2K in OHG Ramadan 2000

American and Burkinabč holidays

The holidays provide a wonderful opportunity to exchange traditions of different cultures. In 1999/2000, in Ouahigouya, Burkina Faso, we enjoyed two delightful Thanksgiving celebrations among Peace Corps volunteers and friends from Burkina Faso and spent Christmas sharing American ideas of Christmas with friends. New Year's day 2000 and 2001 were peaceful, with friends dropping by for Cathy's semi-famous black-eyed pea dip and other American/Mexican specialties. Ramadan and Tabaski are traditional Muslim holidays.
