Welcome to the
Ouahigouya Trail of Lights!

Below are some photos of Cathy's Ouahigouya house decorated for the
holidays. I found some Christmas lights and a small wreath at a store in Ouagadougou, and
with my computer, I made "Merry Christmas" signs
in three languages: English, French, Mooré. Click for your
copy !

The lights were really bright and
twinkly. They burned out kind of quickly during the two weeks I had them lit. Maybe I
should have paid more attention when the package on my imported cheap lights said that
they might melt if I took out the flashing bulb... |

Inside the house, you can see my little
American-type Christmas tree (found in Ouagadougou) decorated with the lion my sister sent
me, as well as the wonderful plaque given to me by friends here in Ouahigouya. It says
something along the lines of "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" in
Mooré. An African nativity scene, complete with 2 wise men, rounds out my
multicultural Christmas decorations.
